Which AntiVirus is better?

Bitdefender is a recognizable name in antivirus, but that doesn’t mean it’s the best. Alongside Avast, it offers behavioral-based scanning to identify new threats. They both include anti-phishing and anti-ransomware functions, along with a secure password manager and webcam protection.

These products really differ in price and extra features. Bitdefender offers numerous extras, including hardware scans for USBs and external drives, a virtual keyboard to bypass keyloggers, and a ‘SafePay’ browser which prevents your sensitive bank details from inputting on unsecured websites. The AutoPilot tool notifies you of necessary updates. Be aware, these features use significant processing power and may slow down your machine.

Avast may not have those features, but it does offer sandboxing to launch apps and files in a virtual environment to minimize damage from malware. The ‘Game Mode’ and ‘Passive Mode’ will shut down notifications and high CPU-usage to avoid interruptions and slowdown. Avast is also considerably more budget friendly; they even offer a completely free version that includes important main features.

Bitdefender is a great choice is full of features but Avast is much cheaper, and just as powerful when it comes to fighting malware. If you want a comprehensive security suite that addresses numerous potential threats, Bitdefender may be worth the investment.
