Don't bother

You might as well buy

Does what any other anti-virus protection, including free/in-built ones do. Nothing more (except the price). But what they do offer in excess of this, is that if you do not renew your subscription (for example because you are broke, don't have your own home at the moment and are trying to regroup, is a load of horrible, passive-aggressive pop-ups about 'risk' and all the threats to your computer. They also virtually cripple your system. Like the modern version of the protection racket.

They also make it exceedingly difficult to uninstall their program. Cannot get rid of them!

It's absolute crap; and nothing and I mean nothing is worth putting up with 3,000 pop ups per second.

This is a rip off company. Even after paying for one year subscription, Their pop up windows shows asking for buying their product. It is very annoying. Besides they ask to remove antivirus for me, even when I have paid for a full year protection for my laptop. I hate them.

Unauthorized access
Windows User
I have purchased antivirus last year , the renewal cost was more than the purchase cost and when I tried for refund , the refund was not initiated rather that guy tried making transaction from my account , I got the mail from my bank, and i have to block my card for that. I have paid 3000 for the renewal.

how can they try unauthorized access to bank account ???

Bank informed me for the same that somebody tried withdrawing amount , i got a mail also

Update Notices
Windows User
Every 4 hours, without fail, in the middle of whatever I'm doing, I get a pop-up that asks me to check if there is an update. There is never really an update, I can't turn the notification off, and I must stop and deal with it.

I do not recommend Macafuee to anybody who is annoyed by such nonsense, and will delete, expunge, shred and scourge the software off my computer as soon as I find a replacement.

Bad coruption

I got an update notice this morning so clicked on update. It crashed my whole computer. Luckily my son-in-law was able to get it repaired. But the backups wouldn't show my data 90% wiped out. No matter what we did. But at end he was able to salvage when did a complete set up of Windows 10. Thanks to my son-in-law the computer whiz.

Terrible Customer Svc
Windows User
It is easy to sign up and pay them but if the McAfee doesn't agree with your computer system it is a nightmare getting their refund, even after only 12 days trying McAfee. Instead of electronic back to purchase card, they make you wait 3-4 weeks and will "mail you a check". Terrible customer service.

Quite frustrated with McAfee.
Windows User
I have a McAfee on my laptop. I have their 2-year-plan for 10- devices. My laptop is hacked recently. The hacker successfully penetrated McAfee's internet security. and disabled the real-time protection, antivirus, and VPN. The hacker is remotely controlling my laptop every time I connect to the internet. McAfee's security protection is not as good enough to stop sophisticated hackers as these. I have almost a year left, but I am stopping my subscription and will ask for a refund.

Get ready to lose money

Bought McAfee kept hijacking my computer and switching my search engine. Also slowed down up loading. Called customer service to politely ask for a refund. The rep started arguing with me that it's impossible. Yet had the same computer for 10 years with no issues. In fact, since deleting the software I never had an issue. I told the rep to keep the money and hung up. The guy called back 3 times.

The rep said it's not possible that it was MacFee yet, as soon as I got rid of it, the issue resolved. Even if it's true what the rep said, then the system is still crap since it missed the virus malware that was causing the issue.

Not only is it a crap system in my opinion, they will no refund your money for a substandard software. My advise ...Show More
