Does everything, but not the main thing

Dashlane is a feature-packed password manager with all the bells and whistles. But it absolutely sucks at the one thing you get password manager for. Its sync is straight horrible. You change the password on one device and it doesn't propagate to your other devices sometimes for half a day! This is very frustrating, especially when using strong auto-generated passwords. I was locked out of my Facebook several times because I changed my password on one PC and my phone and laptop dashlane still remembered only the old one.
Dashlane also loves to create duplicate login sets for one website, leading to confusion about which is which. It also somehow cannot fill my login properly on my internet banking login form, filling it in without a dot (e...Show More

Dashlane website hang up
iOS User
Had for 6+ years. Changed password and their website hung up. I did everything in the recommended solutions to no avail. Opened a ticket & response was to do what I already completed and they closed the ticket. Opened a 2nd ticket and finally got Andrew to respond. He offered a solution which did not work. I responded and they have vanished. Customer Support appears to be to get rid of you without solving the problem. Their website hung up; nothing I did yet they have no apparent concern to assist in solving it.

So many issues
Windows User
Firstly i used dashlane free 2 years ago and it was great but then i got 1password for 1 month free and it was great as well but i thought since dashlane is more secure and i found a eye catching discount, i was so happy and got a 1 year plan. I regret it. so many issues : 1. keep me logged in for 14 days after 2 months i contacting them got fixed 2. secure code (2fa) which is build in in dashlane wouldn't autofill. 3. slow customer service and not even that helpful 4. auto-save password only works to some websites while 1password worked magically on every website. 5. payment auto fill also only works on international website while none of websites in my country are supported, on the other side 1password did the autofill so smoothly(however...Show More

Don't like it at all
Windows User
Barely functional and erratic. Saves more than one password per site in many cases. The worst is that for some sites (like Amazon.ae) I literally have to disable the extension in order to order products - because 1) Dashlane, for example, automatically puts my email address in the promotion code area, and 2) The data entry for say my CVV number won't work, and won't even work when I enter the number manually. The ONLY way to order from amazon, therefore, is to disable dashlane. Not the only example of this.

Was great before they started the disastrous web app
Windows User
Was really a big supporter of DashLane desktop in my IT community when there was justifiable worries over putting so much sensitive information into the hands of one bunch of software developers - the desktop app worked fine, and I trusted it. But the web app is a disaster. I take some time in navigating to the login bit of a web site, want to log in, have to log back into Dashlane, and then it takes me back to square one in getting to that original login site. An hour later, want to go to somewhere else? Repeat the whole damn process again. Every time that I punch in my master password there is the risk that some other software is skimming it., and with that disastrous UI you have to punch it in over and over again. And NO, I do not want m...Show More

Ditto on this sucks now

Desktop version was OK if a little clunky at times. But now that it's decided you HAVE to use the web version, every time you close your browser you are logged off and have to log in again. True, you could choose to "stay logged in for 14 days" - as if having all you login credentials easily available to anyone who wants to hack into your desktop / laptop is a great security scheme. Also, it's really annoying having to have a whole window open at all times just to have Dashlane working. No more minimizing to your toolbar, etc. Now you have to either just have a whole separate instance of your browser running (and remember not to close it when you are cleaning up after web searches) - or always have one tab staring out at you like unfinished...Show More

this latest update to web based sucks so bad, I'm leaving Dashlane for good!!!!!!!!!

Need to update your review!

Dashlane is doing away with the desktop app and going to browser extension only.
Dashlane now syncs your data to the cloud without your permission. As a multi-year user of DL free, i was shocked they would do this without any notice to the user. So much for secure data on your local device only.
IMO, they have ruined a decent product...

Unreachable at times
Windows User
When it works it's good, but outages are unacceptable. Sometimes the service can't be reached, you can't login, so you cant access your credentials which is a major pain. Stop adding features and work on reliability. If you do need to go offline for maintenance, notify users beforehand by push notification or urgent email.

Works very poorly

Hardly ever works as intended. Almost never fills the login fields unaided. Most of the time I have to open the browser app, search for the website, and copy each credential separately and paste them in to each field. Each time you copy, the extension closes, so you have to keep opening it and searching the credential. Talking to support about this is a freaking joke. They will not look into anything and they make you do all the work of making a video of each and every failure. They are completely unwilling to address the problems as a whole or acknowledge that there are systemic issues. On iPhone, same thing; it virtually never fills password logins for you. The best think it can serve as is simply a set of notes/ database of your password...Show More
