MacKeeper Review 2025: Is It Good Enough for Your Mac?

Surprised with such a big amount of haters here. I purchased 1 year plan, here is my first impressions:
Cons
- what is most annoying - you can't hide chat bar, and customer support "very strive to help you" inside the app from the first launch.
- pricy subscriprion
- u can't disable mackeeper app from login items
- stopad extension not available for Firefox
I don't have any issues with annoying popups. In the latest macOS you can allow or disallow notifications for any installed app, so I disabled notifications in macOS for Mackeeper.

I have been using MacKeeper ever since I heard of it. It is the best thing I have ever done. I have a brand new and an old Mac and use it on both. It keeps them running smoothly and maintains their performance at their best capacity. The support team and technical services are just fantastic. Customer-focused and always look at how to help you solve or answer your questions in constructive ways. Not that there has been many, but each time I didn't know how to do something, they helped me within less than 5 minutes, most of the time 2 min max. from the user end, based on customer service and value for money 10* doesn't give it justice. It's just brilliant!

MacKeeper unquestionably has been worth every penny I have spent keeping my aging Mac's fast. MacKeeper has consistently provided me with excellent support for my Mac. I recommend this software with no reservations. It is powerful malware protection. Last week it detected and removed malware that caused pop-up pretending to be from Apple, telling me I had viruses and needed to do something about it right now. Besides, I enabled real-time protection, so MacKeeper can protect my Mac 24/7.

I was worried about the data breach MacKeeper had found related to my email address since it is the one I use for my work. I was guided to change the password to my email and now I feel safe. Firstly, I couldn't understand how to pass verification and check the details of the breach. But MacKeeper representative guided me and I did it successfully. MacKeeper support tech was friendly and very knowledgeable.

I bought MacKeeper because of its ID Theft Guard feature. It not only shows a list of breached accounts but also the exposed passwords. That's why email verification is required. Firstly, I couldn't understand why the status is still not Excellent, but MacKeeper support representative explained to me that once I change the passwords I should mark the breaches as fixed. It is so great that MacKeeper now includes VPN Private Connect. There are so many server locations available. I always choose the Best server option and it connects immediately. Besides, it's so easy to enable it, no technical knowledge is needed. Sometimes I forget to turn it off, but it doesn't somehow influence my mac's performance. With this tool, I can shop online without any worries. I wish I had it four years ago.

I was looking for some application that can scan my Mac constantly, so I decided to give MacKeeper a try. Scanning is performed every 24 hours. There is no way to change the schedule, I appreciate that it is enabled by default. Instead of having several applications on my computer for protection and optimization, I can only keep a MacKeeper that is easy to use and remove the rest.

I like that Antivirus in MacKeeper includes Real-time protection option which protects my Mac 24/7. I enabled it and now I can surf the Internet without any worries. What is more, it doesn't slow down my system, just scans the Mac and keeps it safe from viruses and malware. At first, I couldn't enable real-time protection by myself, but Mac expert available in MacKeeper chat helped me with that. It is very convenient to know that there is someone who can help at my beck and call.

I had been having a few issues with my new Macbook and from what I researched it was malware. My search engine was randomly switching to a different search engine. Well, l I just searched for decent protection since this thing ain't cheap and low and behold it offers tech support 24/7. Great for me since it was 3am. Got my computer fixed right up and no more issues. After tonight I am going to subscribe. Such price for a year for a piece of mind is a piece of cake.

What is more, they explained to me what to do with the infected files detected. There is also an option to enable real-time protection to be constantly protected.
