Ruined my computer
Mac User
I don't know how MacKeeper gets such great reviews on blogs and forums. I have an older (2015) macbook pro that has served me very well through some pretty heavy use in architecture school and now working from home as an architect. My laptop has started to show its age with the fan sounding like its going to blast into hyperspace and programs taking longer to load than usual. I decided it was time to try to clean up the mac to try to help with the aging and improve performance. I barley keep anything on the computer itself other than apps, most of my data is stored on external drives. At first MacKeeper seemed great. It supposedly cleared a bunch of memory and unused files. A feature i did like was the duplicate file search this helped me c...Show More

Get rid or your scammers agents. Great company but terrible agents pushing stuff that people do t need.
iOS User
How can this company have people working for them that love to hack client’s information for the simple act that they didn’t do a great job when offering services and pushing people to buy stuff when people clearly don’t want to or can’t at the moment, money doesn’t come that easy.

I never had any problems with stolen information, so how after I left my review on how terrible and pushy that agent was all my information was stolen, my debit card info was used in many places, my bank account was also used in many place.

When installing the MK software I didn’t need any help, the software can be installed very easy and fast but somehow and nowadays you push for talking to an agent when there’s no need for, but ok I let that slide and I g...Show More

I Hate this software.
Mac User
It's so annoying that i cannot use it anymore. Million times every day is poping up stupid question if i want to do this and that. Its just rubish. And another thing i don't understand is why we have option to choose subscription 1 month or 1 year if they are charging automaticly once month expired. If i choose 1month subscription that mens i want subscription for one month only!!!! and not even hour more.
All in all, try to go with other softwares...because this one is really with covid-19

never subscribe to this company
Mac User
Detailed user review regarding mac keeper: first the software is useless, second they suck every data from your computer and take control of it, third it slows down your computer, fourth they keep on charging you with subscription once you have cancelled subscription, last but not least they keep record of all your data including credit card and the only way to stop them is to renew your credit card ! At last they instal many programs everywhere on your computer so that when you want to get rid of them, you simply can't. Never subscribe to this product.

Don't buy it!
Mac User
It's a scam. It really screwed up my iMac. MacKeeper's StopAd facility prevented me from opening the links in an email to read the rest of an email. Had to uninstall it so I could see the rest of the email.

MacKeeper also prevents me from opening a photo I had previously saved to my desktop. Had been able to open it and see the photo before installing MacKeeper. Now get a message from Google saying I need special app in order to see it. Can't find an app that works. Didn't have this problem until installing MacKeeper. When I complained to MacKeeper, its tech support claimed MacKeeper hadn't caused this problem. Their support wanted to charge extra to fix this. I refused to pay, so still have this problem, unless uninstalling MacKeeper...Show More

Agreed - Its a SCAM
Mac User
Have been a Premium customer for a few years now without a problem.
Talking to MacKeeper about the big jump in annual subscription and did agreeing to pay the fee again in November after real heavy marketing push and online system check. Since then my Mac has slowed down and is now a brick so what ever they did was done to system behind the senses to force me to get it remotely repaired at some astronomical fee they wanted to change me. Lucky I terminated the call and connection but as I say since then my Mac has become a brick.

LIARS AND THIEVES
Mac User
I saw this promo for the app.. In short Mackeeper uses bait and switch tactics. Mackeeper makes it a point to look like a free app and hides that it cost money UNTIL AFTER YOU WASTE 20 MINUTES DOWNLOADING AND RUNNING IT then and only then after the app freezes you have to leave the page and find out they want money. It's a subcription service but they don't make it clear whether or not you can pay by the month or have to pay up front for a year. I was told both answers and by then I just gave up. Mackeeper by you trying to be cute by hiding costs encourages distrust right off the bat and you make it point not to care at all. YOU NEED to have us trust you but I think you don't have an idea what that is.
