MacKeeper Review 2025: Is It Good Enough for Your Mac?

This company spams people, creates unnecessary popups several time sand hour 24/7, invades your viewing and is the biggest SCAM on the internet. Absolute crap marketing, messaging, pressure and performance. I switched and have never been better off. DO NOT USE MACKEEPER!!!!!!!

They have been charging me for 2 years with my knowledge. I thought I cancelled it after my trial, but it wasn't. I admit, I should have been looking a my credit card statements.......Beware!

I signed up for mackeeper in June 2019 and it worked for about a month. Then, every time I'd log in it would alert me to items it found that needing cleaning. After month 1, it logged me out with no option to log back in. It would keep alerting me to problems it found, but would try to charge me for membership rather than let me log in with the one I was already paying for. When I contacted the company, they suggested I call their technicians to have them scan my computer and provide the diagnostics that the app is supposed to do. I told them I'd rather the app (that I'm paying for) do its job and they offered me no other option than calling and working with their technicians to scan the computer as the app is supposed to do. I was told it was because of MacKeeper. Apple has it own security installed in the computer. MacKeeper confuses the software & causes my MAC not to work. Of course it was denied. I wasn’t given a refund one star cause I have to

The programme simply does not work anymore: my computer behaves strangely all the time needing restarts and and since many days and many attempts, the antivirus simply doesn't enable itself. When I try to reinstall, I get system messages that this programmes can't be installed because it needs updating by the developer. Isn't this all embarrassing for a "premium" product, which I paid on a yearly subscription basis. I try to get the remaining days reimbursed, since the product is simply faulty. And I refrained from using their support professional because last time this "apple certified support professional" most of all tried to bully me into buying an upgrade, and I got only rid of his insistence by going offline.

It does not work this is a scam because I bought a new Mac and then it deterred malware

Have been a Premium customer for a few years now without a problem.
Talking to MacKeeper about the big jump in annual subscription and did agreeing to pay the fee again in November after real heavy marketing push and online system check. Since then my Mac has slowed down and is now a brick so what ever they did was done to system behind the senses to force me to get it remotely repaired at some astronomical fee they wanted to change me. Lucky I terminated the call and connection but as I say since then my Mac has become a brick.

It's a scam. It really screwed up my iMac. MacKeeper's StopAd facility prevented me from opening the links in an email to read the rest of an email. Had to uninstall it so I could see the rest of the email.

MacKeeper also prevents me from opening a photo I had previously saved to my desktop. Had been able to open it and see the photo before installing MacKeeper. Now get a message from Google saying I need special app in order to see it. Can't find an app that works. Didn't have this problem until installing MacKeeper. When I complained to MacKeeper, its tech support claimed MacKeeper hadn't caused this problem. Their support wanted to charge extra to fix this. Detailed user review regarding mac keeper: first the software is useless, second they suck every data from your computer and take control of it, third it slows down your computer, fourth they keep on charging you with subscription once you have cancelled subscription, last but not least they keep record of all your data including credit card and the only way to stop them is to renew your credit card ! At last they instal many programs everywhere on your computer so that when you want to get rid of them, you simply can't. Never subscribe to this product.

They did not solve my problem and aggressively tried to sell me unnecessary products, making me think my computer is broken. I would like to upload the screenshots if i could
