MacKeeper Review 2025: Is It Good Enough for Your Mac?

atisfied for 4 years, but now I really done with loosing time with a non-performing programme that cause more trouble than anything

I'd like to also note that my Mac performance has not improved, but is running more slowly since installing and paying for this app and service.

lear a good deal of space. However, within weeks of downloading and running mackeeper for the first time, i found it didnt help my issues, it MADE THEM WAY WORSE. MacKeeper was consistently running as one of the highest CPU and memory users in my activity monitor, there seemed to be no option to prevent it from running. even with all the background options turned off and force quiting the application, it still showed in the activity monitor. Over the last 2 or three weeks, my computer has been nearly unusable at times. Web pages take forever to load and sometimes dont load at all. If i restart my computer it restarts itself several times and when it finally starts up for real it can take up to 10 minutes until the computer is usable. Again, my computer is nearing the end of its life but I did not have these issues before mackeeper. I removed mackeeper entirely a couple of days ago. even followed all the instructions in blog posts about manually removing all the files that mackeeper tries to keep on your computer after you uninstall, but there are still mackeeper related processes running in my activity monitor. I am extremely dissapointed in the software and believe it has destroyed my computer. Which again, is old and slow, but was entirely functional until I downloaded mackeeper. My personal advice is to stay far away, but maybe I just had a bad experience or some other issue with my computer was exacerbated by trying to clean it up.

ot on the phone with that fucking guy that all he did was telling me shit that I already know, he asked to let him in inside my computer to check some things, so I trusted MK because I have been using it for years in my older Mac, I should have known better and followed my instincts about that agent, a fucking scammer, by this point and without him doing shit the MK software was already installed and working properly but he insisted that I needed this and that and blah blah blah, he booked an appointment with a technician without me telling me yes, then he kept pushing a bunch of other things and I kept telling him o I don’t need it and I don’t want it, after almost 8 times telling him no than he finally let me go, so fucking unprofessional.

So few days went by and was time for me to sent my feedback/review about the agent service, then I guess he found out that I didn’t give him a good review and guess what happened? My debit card and bank account information was used in place that I don’t shop and in places 3000 miles away from my location, so you tell me. I never had any problems with stolen info and then this happened.

I lost completely respect for MK and all the people working for it, I was planning on upgrading many things with MK and even getting my old Mac with new MK software but at this point I do not want to do anything with MK and I’m going to make sure that everyone that I know knows how bad MK is.

's StopAd facility has fixed it. Don't know yet. There may be more problems as well. Don't know yet. Plan to uninstall MacKeeper. penelope
