MacKeeper Review 2025: Is It Good Enough for Your Mac?

My experience with MacKeeper has been tremendous. When I called and asked about a recent MacKeeper update, they explained the changes and assisted me in the installation. They could have very easily ended the call but they said they would guide me through the update process. However, I'm a little bit disappointed that there is no Data Encryptor feature in MacKeeper 4, I liked this feature so much in MacKeeper 3. I hope they will include this functionality in future releases.

Cool app has a lot of features. I don't use all of them, but I really love the VPN tool. I was a bit tired of their additional offers for other apps and services, but the app is nice. I now enjoy using my Mac, knowing that there are no viruses and malware on my computer.

I had attempted to Fix and Find and it kept stopping at 6%. I also followed support's recommendations by running Fast Cleanup and it also stopped after reaching a certain point. I left the Fix and Find and Fast Clean all night with the same result. This morning, I contacted online support to inform them of the results of following the recommendations and Simon asked if he could troubleshoot from my computer, I allowed Simon control and he found the issue right away. In a few minutes MacKeeper came alive and all scans were completed. I am very pleased with this App and the awesome service.

I found and removed malware with MacKeeper. That's sounds promising as I'm afraid of loosing my files. Mac started working a bit faster so looks like everything is ok for now.

Cool app, especially VPN feature. I checked it with the speed test and the result is good. I wish they have mobile app too.

Surprised with such a big amount of haters here. I purchased 1 year plan, here is my first impressions:
Cons
- what is most annoying - you can't hide chat bar, and customer support "very strive to help you" inside the app from the first launch.
- pricy subscriprion
- u can't disable mackeeper app from login items
- stopad extension not available for Firefox
I don't have any issues with annoying popups. In the latest macOS you can allow or disallow notifications for any installed app, so I disabled notifications in macOS for Mackeeper.
